Mbuyuni Farm Retreat

Water Conservation

Mbuyuni Farm depends on a regular supply of water for it’ s agricultural activities and for the many people that share our life on the farm. Until 2005 Ngerengere River was a reliable water source, but due to an ever increasing demand for water from rapidly growing Morogoro Town, continuing deforestation in the Uluguru Mountains and noticeable effects caused by climate change we had to build water reservoirs for the dry season.

On Mbuyuni Farm we have meanwhile established reservoirs with a total water holding capacity of 35 million litres. We are also assisting our neighbours with know-how and machinery in solving their water requirements. Below please find some photos on our activities and if you are interested in these projects please contact Kim Axmann on kim@kimango.com.
